Fun Purse Cakes. Cake decorating class.

 

Learn how to make this fun purse cake based on any round cake shape. No carving skills necessary!
In this class students will work on a round cake dummy and will leave with 2-faced purse model with 2 different designs.


Prerequisite: students must have some fondant application skills.

 


Techniques that we will cover:

I’ll first demonstrate you how to secure this type of standing-up cakes on cake board for safe transportation. You will then cover your practice dummy with fondant and begin decorating.

You’ll learn how to make a quick beaded purse handle, make life-like metallic zipper closure of any length, quick and easy contrasting vertical stripes and waves on cakes, a contrasting flower inlay. I will also share with you my secret recipe for food paint to use on any surface like fondant or even chocolate, no bleeding into tiny cracks or beading off of the fatty surface! You will try freehand painting of vines and scrolls on fondant. I’ll also show you how to finish your cake board with fondant so it looks clean and professional.

 


All supplies & materials will be provided for use during the class. Students will leave with beautiful finished piece.

Class cost: $99

Duration: 4h

Class capacity: 5 students max.

  • Having that perfectly straight cake is very important, especially if you are planning on covering it with fondant. Even a tiny bump on the cake surface may turn into a moon crater once a layer of fondant touches it. Make sure you know how to prepare your cakes for a clean and flawless fondant work any professional could be proud of.
  • A step-by-step demonstration on how to fill your cake, assemble it properly and prepare it to be later covered with fondant to achieve a clean professional look: straight lines and razor sharp corners with no sagging or bulging with any type of filling.
  • I will also share with you my personal super-safe bullet proof multi-tiered cake internal support system method, cake packaging and transportation safety tips.

Please, note: this is a live demonstration/discussion session, not a hands-on class.
An attendance certificate is issued to every student.

A very technique packed cake decorating class for those who would want to brush up their skills or for those who would want to gain some more knowledge than what they already know. Newbies are welcome, too!

- flawless fondant application, razor-sharp crisp corners, super-clean bottom cuts

- fondant borders

- easy ribbon roses

- dress bow

- wavy top fondant overlay

- fondant inlays

- fondant extruder (ropes)

- stamps on fondant

- texture mats on fondant

- stencils on fondant

- dry dusting and painting with luster and Disco dusts

- silicone molds

- finishing cake board with fondant

Private Cake Decorating Classes

 

All private training sessins are charged by the hour for a minimum of 2 hours. Private classes may be scheduled any day and time of the week subject to availability.


Private Class rate:  $70/hour*

Semi-Private Class rate: $50 /hour* (2 students max.)

*All fees are based upon an hourly rate per person and do not include the cost of supplies.
